Expensive but awesome local drink started at Ranch 616 and served at Rattle Inn and a few other establishments
Hornitos Reposado, Citronge and lime juice on the rocks served with a Topo Chico mineral water
New classic invented in Austin
Trudy’s and Cedar Door both lay claim to inventing the drink. Trudy’s is the better of the two. Any fine establishment in Austin will serve the cocktail.
2 oz tequila, 1 oz Cointreau, 1 oz lime juice, 1 oz orange juice, 1 splash Sprite, 1 splash olive juice
Pour all ingredients into a large cocktail shaker filled with ice. Shake and strain into a large cocktail/martini glass (8+ ounces) with a salt rim. Add two olives on a spear and a slice of lime and serve.
Bartenders on West 6th will know what you are ordering. On the East Side they will look at you like you are crazy.
I am still not 100% on the ingredients but this is my best guess.
